Air
can be compressed
25 mL of air are sucked into
a syringe by an by an adult. After that he
connects the syringe with the smallest hypodermic needle (for insulin)
to pierce the stopper of a closed Liquemin bottle
full of air.
Observations
Left:
The air can be compressed from
25 to 3 mL. This air in the bottle is called compressed
air.
Photo
2 = A mini explosion takes place: The stopper is blown away with a
bang when the pressure inside the bottle is increased.
Photo 3: Scuba
divers carry the compressed for breathing in a metal tank on their
back.
Right:
The closed mineralwater bottle is flattened by the air pressure around
the diver. The 1.5 L of air inside the bottle are compressed to a very
small amount.
