Pampers nappies are used
for babies to absorb their urine. This is possible because the cotton of
the nappies contains special small grains.
What
you need
1-ml syringe filled with
Red Sea water, Liquemin bottle with more sea water to refill the syringe,
Pampers grains in a second Liquemin bottle.
Experiment
* Left: Ask an adult
to open a Pampers nappy for you above a tray and to transfer the grains
into a
Liquemin bottle.
* Middle: Observe
how a syringe is properly filled with the right quantity of water.
* Empty the syringe in drops
into the bottle.
* Add as much water as the
Pampers grains can soak up.
Observation
* Right: 6 syringes
of water have disappeared in the bottle while a jelly pours out of it.
