Liquid gas is highly inflamable. It may even be explosive if mixed with air.

Left: Liquid gas is a fuel for cigarette lighters and camping cookers. Its name is derived from the fact that it keeps liquid inside the lighter even at higher temperatures.
* Middle: The liquid gas butane is transferred from a can to a 5-mL bottle.aus einer Dose eingefüllt.
Observation and explanation:  Butane keeps liquid even in the open vial.  *  Heavy vapours flow out of the vial.    * Even at a hot day the temperature of the liquid wass - 7.5°C because it is cooled by evaporation.
* Right: A micro butane burner produces a temperature of 1022°C.
