1-ml syringes for density measurement of copper
Left
photo: The left measuring cylinder (made of a 1-ml syringe) is filled
with 0.5 ml (50 units) of coloured water.
The
right measuring cylinder shows that a sample of 0.745 g Cu
which was carefully immersed diplaced a water volume after of 0.58
- 0.50 ml = 0.08 ml.
Experimental
density of Cu = 0.745 g / 0.08 ml (cm3)
=9.3
g/cm3.
Reference
Cu density = 8.95 g/cm3 , experiment result deviation = 3.9
%.
Right photo: The complete experiment is kept in a plastic pouch for demonstration after seeling the measuring cylinders by the plungers.
