Experiment 6:
Beads and cubes made of beads as models of salt particles and a NaCl crystal lattice 

* Left:  Crystal in the shape of cubes are left when sea water is dried up.
* Photo 2: Positive sodium particles (yellow) and negative chloride particles (green) are conductors for electricity.
   Sodium particles repel each other due to their like charge, so do chloride particles.
    Sodium and chloride particles attract each other due to their unlike charge (+ und -).
* Photo 3: In this position the 4 particles attract each other.
* Right:  8 beads can be assembles using brass wire to form such a bead.
            4 green beads (Na+) and 4 yellow beads (Cl-) form the smallest cube possible.
